Employers are at liberty to dismiss their employees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract of employment (Beale and Tallon, 2002). There are various types of employment contracts including written contracts, oral contracts as well as a combination of the two. Some countries have two basic distinctions to dismissals: those with cause and those without cause. Dismissals with cause are those as a result of the employee breaching the terms and conditions of the contract of employment. In such a case, the employer is at liberty to dismiss the employee without any notice.
